Do I need a license to work as a security officer in Florida?
Yes. In Florida, unarmed security officers must hold a valid Class D License (Security Officer License). Armed security officers must also obtain a Class G License (Firearm License). Both require state-approved training and background screening. JM Security Academy offers the required courses.
